COMPOSITION:

Metformin Hydrochloride BP 500 mg

PRESENTATION:
Dibchek 500 Tablet is available in a pack of 10×10 tablets.

INDICATIONS:
Dibchek Tablet is used in Non insulin dependent diabetes and diabetes with or without obesity.

DESCRIPTION:
Metformin under biguanide class acts as an anti-hyperglycemic agent by improving hepatic & peripheral tissue sensitivity to insulin. Dibchek (Metformin) performs anti-hyperglycemic activity in three ways.

It reduces the amount of glucose produced by the liver. It reduces the amount of glucose absorbed by stomach from the food.  It increases insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake into cells.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to Metformin hydrochloride or any of the excipients, diabetic coma, ketoacidosis, cardiac failure and recent myocardial infarction, renal failure, hepatic failure, chronic liver disease. The use of Dibchek during pregnancy is not advised. There is no information available concerning the safety of Dibchek during lactation.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Hypoglycemia, skin eruption, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, metallic taste in mouth may occur occasionally. Symptoms of side effects (if any) should subside after discontinuing medicine. If symptoms persist, please consult doctor.

PRECAUTIONS:
Consult the doctor before taking Metformin if you are taking any of the diuretics, antihypertensives, steroids, hormones or MAO inhibitors drugs. Check the expiry on the pack and do not use after expiry.

DOSAGE:
Adult: The usual dose of Dibchek 500 tablet is 1 tablet 2 to 3 times a day with meal or as directed by the doctor. The maximum recommended dose of metformin is 3g daily, taken as 3 divided doses.

STORAGE:
Store in a dry place below 25°C/ 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
